James E. Smith, Jr., Terry McCall and
Maureen Blackburn founded Smith, McCall and Blackburn in New Orleans in 1984. The firm
specialized in transactional law and general litigation. From that modest beginning, the
firm grew to 15 lawyers and today encompasses commercial practice representing some of the
largest companies in the New Orleans metropolitan area. James E. Smith, Jr., managing
partner, explains, "Our strategy is to offer high-quality legal services to our
corporate and public-sector clients. We believe that offering superior capability and
performance utilizing advanced technology enables us to offer unsurpassable legal
services, yet keep the firm at a size allowing our clients to enjoy very personal
relationships with our professionals."
Over the past several years, Smith Law Firm, LLC emerged as a full service law firm serving the entire State of Louisiana and other areas of the country.
The firm is informally divided into business, litigation and land-law sections. Within those general sections, our lawyers developed expertise in particular fields of legal practice. The Firm boasts a diverse client base, including individuals, regional businesses, multi-national corporations and federal and state agencies.
